My Boden Picks…

My Boden Picks…

Hello,

I thought I would start off the season with a series of blogs on my key picks from some of my favourite brands..so that when the catalogue or email lands with you, you have an inside track on what might work for you and can pick with confidence!

First up…its Boden…for no other reason other then they deserve to be first due to their tenacity with marketing and getting in there first!

Their website has had a bit of a re-fresh and they are coming at you from all sides with inspiration and styling ideas of how to mix and match their collection so that you have maximum ideas as to what you could do with it. My eye was immediately caught by this coat….:

If only I could wear it…but sadly the colour is waaaaaay off for me. It would work for any of you who have cool (grey, white, ash hair colour), deep (darker hair/eye colour), clear (real contrast between eye/hair/skin tone) tones ….and would look amazing with any neutrals underneath such as navy blue, grey, black trousers.  You could go wild and mix it with another strong colour such as bottle green or bright red….depending how bold you are feeling!

Next up its a coatigan:

These are always such a useful addition to your wardrobe for layering and a more casual look. I loved this two tone one and it’s especially good for those of you who are broad up top as it cuts you at the shoulder and will help to make them appear narrower. The mid grey /navy colour mix is such an easy combination for everyone. Careful if you are on the petite side though as the colour divide in the middle could make you look shorter. I would also avoid this if you don’t want to draw attention to your tummy area.

Broderie Top

So easy to wear through autumn and then layer with a jacket once it gets chillier. I am a sucker for Broderie Anglaise so I am sorry for the slightly more “personal choice” here! This will be great for those of you who are bottom heavy so need some detail up top…be careful though if you have a full bust as you could find the fabric of this top won’t “give” very well.

Rosa Dress

A great dress to take you from Autumn to winter…wearing now with trainers/ankle boots and biker jacket, to long boots and a cropped fur jacket for when it’s colder. A classic shape that works well for all those with a defined waist. Careful if you are on the petite side with this length of hem…you would need to wear a good heal with it otherwise your legs could look short.

Classic trainers

I don’t think I need to do too much “justifying” with these….they just speak for themselves really! A brilliant design that will “Jazz hands” up any outfit!!!

A whistle stop tour I’m afraid…but working life is extremely busy at the moment so I am not getting much time to do my blogs….I am sorry! Follow me on Instagram though if you want daily tips / ideas / style advice.

Will be back next week with my picks from Hush…at a quick glance we’ll be spoilt for choice…!!
