THE CHALLENGE

To work with a team of four Investment Managers, to help them to become more aware of their strengths and weaknesses within their roles, and to use the coaching process to address these.

The company’s ultimate aim was to drive business development, increase productivity and enhance the client’s experience. In the past, traditional training has been used to try to deal with issues such as poor time management and organisational skills, gaps in knowledge and soft skills such as building rapport with clients, but this had not made any real and lasting impact on the team’s behaviour or attitude.

THE PROCESS

  • I worked with each Investment Manager for two hours a month for a three month period- supporting them with areas of their job that they found challenging, such as time management, organisation and  social skills.
  • I taught skills where appropriate such as organisation or conversation techniques; I was also a sounding board that they could use when they wanted to discuss any in-house problems. By being a third party, I could help them to see challenges in a different way and support them in finding a solution.
  • Alongside helping the team to reach in-house targets, we also worked on improving confidence, addressing skills-gaps and their ability to take the lead and show initiative.

THE RESULT

  • After just three months of coaching, all four of the Investment Managers reported that they had noticed a real change in how they were working, how they felt about their jobs and wanted to continue the coaching process indefinitely as they saw such a value in my role.
  • Two Investment Managers reported winning new business as a direct result of the coaching process and their improved skills and organisation.

THE FEEDBACK

“I asked Kate to come into work with my team to support them with major changes taking place within our industry, as well as helping them to become better at what they do, how they work and the service we offer as a whole. Kate was able to get to the heart of the different challenges the team was facing very quickly, while at the same time, gaining the trust and confidence of them all. She has helped the team to become more efficient with their time, more aware of their strengths and weaknesses and how to deal with these and this has had a direct result on the improved service they provide to clients, both new and existing. I have noticed significant changes in the way they are all working and the team unanimously agreed on how beneficial this process has been for them. I would not hesitate to recommend Kate and the service she offers.”

THE CHALLENGE

To raise the profile of the store and website in three ways. Firstly- by promoting various fashion items on social media. Secondly- by writing a blog about the store and the ranges it stocks and thirdly, by co-hosting in-store events, offering Personal Shopping to customers.

THE PROCESS

  • Making sure I fully understood the store’s target market and customer type and what their regular “challenges” are – such as not being able to find a pair of trousers to flatter a short leg.
  • Picking key pieces from the collection that I knew would work for most body shapes- therefore ensuring maximum outreach and customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring the blog told the true story of why I love the store, its range, the staff, the customer services- everything you would want in an independent shop.
  • At personal shopping events I always introduce myself in a short presentation to the guests- so that they understand what I am about and can therefore understand where my advice to them is coming from. It ensures that they quickly trust me- resulting in my being able to help them more effectively.

THE RESULT

  • The social media campaigns were initially so popular (resulting in sell out items in one day) that I am now in store every 2-3 months, filming “trying on sessions” where I am going through my key picks from the collection, trying them on and talking about who they would work for, giving styling ideas and how to get maximum use out of each item.
  • The blog resulted in an immediate increase in customer footfall as they wanted to come to see the store for themselves.
  • The personal shopping events ensure the customers are getting incredible service and tailored advice – resulting in a higher spend as they are inspired by my showing them items they might never have thought would suit them.

THE FEEDBACK

“Kate is a total professional- always so positive, enthusiastic and genuine. Her advice is built on real facts, experience and knowledge- so my customers know that when she recommends something- it really is worth taking note of. When Kate posts something on social media about my shop we see immediate results in direct sales – often selling out of the particular item. She has also introduced so many new customers to my shop, I would thoroughly recommend working with Kate.”

THE CHALLENGE

To ensure my client had a wardrobe that was going to work very hard for her during a year of buying no new clothes. The reason she enforced a “No new clothes” embargo for a year was because she knew she had got into bad habits of constantly buying new clothes to try to “fix” the issues she had with her body. She wasn’t managing to fix them…so she kept buying more and more.

THE PROCESS

  • So that she had total clarity on what colours, styles, cuts of clothes and fabrics worked for her best, I did a Full Image Consultation for her.
  • I then went through her wardrobe, taking out items that no longer flattered her, fitted her, suited her or made her feel good.
  • I then gave her inspiration as to what was left – pulling outfits together, showing her how to dress an item for casual or smart occasions, how an accessory can make all the difference and clarifying where the gaps in her wardrobe were.
  • I did a online Personal Shopping session for her- to find the missing items she needed and gave inspiration as to how to get maximum wear out of the items.

THE RESULT

My client had a wardrobe that worked for her…it all fitted, flattered her and made her feel great – however she wore it. She has not needed to buy any new items and reports that she has not missed the experience at all…something that she is very surprised by!

THE FEEDBACK

“Kate is funny, relaxed and approachable, and the two sessions I had with her were so helpful. I wish I had done it years ago and would recommend Kate to anyone! My wardrobe has been totally streamlined and it’s fabulous! We then filled in gaps with a little online shopping; Kate knows her stuff inside out, and can find items in seconds that would take me an age, as she know her brands, her shops and what would work for me.  I am definitely booking a wardrobe refresh with Kate at the end of the year and I’m already looking forward to it! A really brilliant experience.”
